2022-23 strike action: hardship fund

During the 2022-2023 industrial action mandate (beginning 24th November 2022), there were 15 days of strike action.

If you participated in the strike action during this period, you are entitled to apply for financial support (though this is prioritised based on need and available funds). You will need to submit payslips showing that you have had pay deducted. A summary of eligibility is here.

(If you wish to apply to the hardship fund for the 2023 marking and assessment boycott, click here instead.)

  • You can apply to the local fund for the first day of strike action that you took.
  • You can apply to the national fund for the second through twelfth days of strike action that you took. National strike fund info can be found here.
  • You can apply to the local fund for the thirteenth through fifteenth days of strike action that you took.

Please complete this local hardship fund application form to apply, and return it by email to Kester Richardson-Dawes (krichardson-dawes@ucu.org.uk : branch organiser). Care has been taken to make the process as confidential and anonymous as possible: only Kester Richardson-Dawes will see names and personal details before payment, and only the necessary bank account signatories will have access to details afterwards, for payment purposes only.
